MASTER'S 

Overview:

The IESC Master's is two-year degree program which runs annually from the beginning of October. It emphasizes to provide broad-based introduction to the theory and experiments in energy science. The program is comprised of course works and dissertation. The IESC Master's program is run by the following three departments in the Graduate School of Energy Science, Kyoto University:

Department of Socio-Environmental Energy Science (SES)
Department of Fundamental Energy Science (FES)
Department of Energy Conversion Science (ECS)

Tuition fee 535,800JPY per year;

Admission fee 282,000JPY; Application fee 10,000JPY

Entry requirements: Applicants must have both (1) and (2)

(1) a. A good bachelor's or higher degree from a recognized higher education institution outside of Japan OR  b. A good bachelor's or higher degree from a university in Japan as an international student

(2) Competitive proficiency in academic English
Degree requirements:  

Minimum 45 units of credits by seminar and lectures, research and Master's thesis under the academic adviser's supervision

For who?  

The IESC is for the international students who wish to acquire a competent knowledge for future professional career in energy-related industries/organizations and who wish to form a sound basis for an advanced research to pursue a PhD degree in energy science. Prospective students must be proficient in academic English.

The IESC doctoral provides international students and researchers who have a Master's degree an opportunity to further their studies toward a doctoral degree. Senior faculty members in the following four departments in the Graduate School of Energy Science are available for IESC doctoral supervision:
