The International Advanced Energy Science Research and Education Center (IAESREC) has started holding Science Cafes（IAESREC Science Cafe）from this semester. In this Science Cafe, we would like to make opportunities to discuss about science freely with coffee, snacks and fun. Each time, we will invite a speaker to provide a topic. The speakers will explain their topics in a simple way for us, including people from different research backgrounds. If you want to know about new research fields, or if you want to ask and discuss other scientific questions, please come and join our IAESREC Science Cafe!
The 11th (December 15th 2022) IAESREC Science Cafe
In the 11th IAESREC Science Cafe, we invite Prof. Salvatore FEDERICO from the University of Calgary (Canada), currently a visiting professor in the Graduate School of Energy Science. He will talk about how he ended up working in Continuum Mechanics (completely by accident) and how his research has evolved, starting from soft tissue biomechanics and then steering towards more general problems in elasticity, composite materials, porous media, electro-magneto-mechanics, growth and remodeling and geometric mechanics.
