As part of the memorandum of understanding (MOU) between Kyoto University and the University of Antananarivo in Madagascar, two Malagasy exchange students came to study at the Graduate School of Energy Science, Kyoto University. One participated in the IAfP Short-Term Exchange Program for approximately two months, from October 15 to December 17, 2024, while the other joined the Sakura Program for two weeks, from November 30 to December 17, 2024.
  Their final presentations took place on December 16, with research themes titled: “Smart Grid Integration for Domestic Solar Energy Stabilization” by Kantoniaina Rasamoela (IAfP Program), hosted by Professor Takashi Sagawa, and “Characterization of six wood species (Cryptocarya louvelii, Tambourissa sp., Dilobeia thouarsii, Weinmannia minutiflora, Dalbergia sp., Pinus sp.) from Madagascar” by Océane Rakotomavo (Sakura Program), hosted by Professor Haruo Kawamoto.


The exchange programs were organized in collaboration with the IAESREC and the Graduate School of Asian and African Area Studies, Kyoto University.
